Reb Yanky Mayer is first and foremost and ish chesed who has been and continues to be involved in zikuy harabim on an extremely elevated level. Whether it was his founding of a learning chabura in Flatbush, his establishment of a chavrusa program for students who could not afford but desperately needed tutoring, or his amazing assistance to the most needy among us, Reb Yanky always stands ready to generously contribute his time, assets and energy for the sake of our community.
His recent, brilliant brainchild, which he has aptly named "HelpThisJew.com" has been in planning for the better part of a year, during which time I was regularly consulted. I can state unequivocally that this project, which is designed to help us all give the highest form of tzedaka in both an anonymous and dignified manner to carefully vetted and worthy recipients, is being run L'sheim Shomayim and for no personal financial gain of any kind.
Anyone who participates in this wonderful tzedaka will certainly accrue the great s'char and blessings promised by our holy Torah.
